Brazil 3 - 1 Ivory Coast
Brazil has showed its true World Cup colors and qualified for the final 16 of the tournament with a 3-1 win against Ivory Coast in a Group G contest at Soccer City Stadium on Sunday.
Brazil’s first three shots on target led to three goals. The first two came from Luis Fabiano in 25th and 50th minutes and the third from Elano in the 62nd minute.
Elano, who also scored in Brazil’s 2-1 win over North Korea, got on the score sheet thanks to Kaka’s cross from the left, leaving him with a simple tap-in from close range.
Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba headed his team’s solo goal after 79 minutes, despite his broken arm.
Brazil will face Portugal in its final group match on Friday in Durban, while the Ivory Coast will challenge North Korea in Nelspruit at the same time.
