The Word ‘knowledge’ mentioned in Quran (Part 1)
Point 1: Necessity of learning.
(‘E’lamoo’ 27 times in Holy Quran)
Point 2: Repeatedly blame on forsakers of knowledge.
Say: I do not say to you, I have with me the treasures of
Allah, nor do I know the
unseen, nor do I say to you that I am an
angel; I do not follow aught save that which is revealed to me. Say: Are the blind and the seeing one alike? Do you not then reflect? (6:50)
They ask you about intoxicants and games of chance. Say: In both of them there is a great sin and means of profit for men, and their sin is greater than their profit. And they ask you as to what they should spend. Say: What you can spare. Thus does Allah make clear to you the communications, that you may ponder.(2:219)
And if We had pleased, We would certainly have exalted him thereby; but he clung to the earth and followed his low desire, so his parable is as the parable of the dog; if you attack him he lolls out his tongue; and if you leave him alone he lolls out his tongue; this is the parable of the people who reject Our communications; therefore relate the narrative that they may reflect. (7:176)
Point 3: Talks about people going and learning and come back and teach people.
And it does not beseem the believers that they should go forth all together; why should not then a company from every party from among them go forth that they may apply themselves to obtain understanding in religion, and that they may warn their people when they come back to them that they may be cautious? (9:122)
Point 4: Knowledge, the goal of creation. (65:12)
Allah is He Who created seven heavens, and of the earth the like of them; the decree continues to descend among them, that you may know that Allah has power over all things and that Allah indeed encompasses all things in (His) knowledge.
Meaning Quran mentions seven heaven and earth, talks about the dealing and starting of creation.
Point 5: Education, the goal of all the prophets’ missions. (2:151):
Prophet has come to educate/provoke/elevate people, prophet has come to teach you things that we don't know e.g. hereafter.
Even as We have sent among you an Apostle from among you who recites to you Our communications and purifies you and teaches you the Book and the wisdom and teaches you that which you did not know.(2:151)
Point 6: Reflection, the goal of the descending of the Quran. (e.g.38:29):
Quran has come to make people think/reflect. This book is full of blessing so you can think about it.
(It is) a Book We have revealed to you abounding in good that they may ponder over its verses, and that those endowed with understanding may be mindful.(38:29)
