Iran and Azerbaijan to collaborate on joint cinematic productions
Iran will be boosting its cultural ties with Azerbaijan focusing on joint cinematic productions, said Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance at the opening ceremony of Azerbaijan Cultural Week in Tehran.
The Azerbaijan Cultural Week opened Monday at Tehran’s Niavaran Cultural Center where Azerbaijani Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev was participating as head of the delegation.
Iran’s Culture Minister Mohammad Hosseini remarked that cultural officials from both countries stressed on expanding relationships, adding, “Azerbaijan is a neighbor and we try to develop our ties.”
“Iran is ready to make programs on cultural and literary figures from both countries and to hold seminars and conferences. We can also think of making joint cinematic productions, as both countries are currently involved in making a joint movie,” Hosseini said.
He also stated that Iran is ready to make use of Azeri artists in films, theaters, music, and poetry.
Azerbaijani Culture Minister Abulfaz Garayev also said that joint productions will help boost bilateral ties.
Mehdi Mostafavi of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), also present at the ceremony, said that joint programs build upon the deep commonalities between the two countries and will have a positive effect on the friendship between the two states.
Several programs are arranged for the week including a book fair, photo exhibit, and film screening that will run until October 1.
