Imam Reza (A.S) said:

Ziyaarat Ashura In Arabic & English Text:

اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يا اَبا عَبدِ الله

“Peace be on you, O Abu 'Abdillah

اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيكَ يَابْنَ رَسُوْلِ الله

Peace be on you, O son of the Messenger of Allah

اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ اَمیرِالمُؤمِنِيَن وَ ابْنَ سَيِدِ الوَصيّيَن

Peace be upon you, O the chosen one and the son of the chosen one

Peace be on you, O son of the Commander of the Faithful and the son of the chief of the successors.

اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيكَ يَا بْنَ فاطِمَةَ سَيِدَةِ نِساءِ العْالَمِينَ

Peace be on you, O son of Fatima, the leading lady of the worlds

اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ثَارَ الله وَ اَبنِ ثَارِهَ

Peace be on you, O fearless warrior of Allah, the be who was killed,

وَالوِتْرَ الْمَوْتُور

but to whom blood revenge is still denied

اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيكَ وَ عَلي الَأرواحِ الَّتِي حَلَتْ بِفِنآئِكَ

Peace be on you, and on the souls who died with you.

عَلَيكُمْ مِنْي جَمِيعاً سَلامُ اللهِ اَبداً

I send peace of Allah on all of you forever,

ما بَقَيتُ وَ بَقِيَ الَّليلِ وَ النَّهارُ

so long as I remain alive, and the night and day remains.

يا اَبا عَبدِ اللِه لَقَدْ عَظُمَتِ الرَّزِيَّةُ

O Abu Abdillah, Great is the loss,

 وَ جَلَتْ وَ عَظُمَتِ الُمصيبَةُ بِكَ عَلَينْا وَ عَلي جَميِع اَهْلِ الِأسْلِام

And unbearable and great is your tragedy for us, and for all the Muslims,

وَ جَلَّتْ وَ عَظُمَتِ اَلمُصيبَتكَ في السَّمواتِ عَلي جَميع اَهْلِ السَّمواتِ

And unbearable and great is your tragedy in the heavens, and for all the dwellers of the heavens.

فَلَعِنَ اللهُ اُمَّةً اَسَسَتْ اَساسَ الظُّلمِ وَ الجُورِ

May Allah curse the people, who laid down the basis of oppression and wrongs

عَلَيكُمْ اَهْلِ البَيتِ

against you, people of the House

وَلَعَنْ اللهُ اُمَّةً دَفَعَتْكُمْ عَنْ مقامکم

May Allah curse those who removed you from your position,

 و ازالتکم عن مَراتِبِكُمُ الَّتي رَتَبِكُمُ اللهُ فيها

and removed you from the rank in which Allah had placed you.

وَ لَعَنَ اللهُ اُمةً قَتَلَتكُمْ

May Allah curse the people who killed you,

وَ لَعَنَ اللهُ المُمهِدِينَ لَهُمْ بِالتَمكيِن مِنْ قِتالِكُمْ

And those who facilitated for them the means for your killing

بَرِئتُ اِلَي اللهِ وَ اِلَيكُمْ مِنهُمْ

I turn to Allah and to you, away from them,

وَ من اَشياعِهِمْ وَ اَتْباعِهِمْ وَ اَوْليائهِمْ

And from their adherents, their followers, and their friends.

يا اَبا عَبدِ الله اِني سِلْمٌ ِلِمَنْ سالَمَكُمْ

O Abu 'Abdillah, I am at peace with those who make peace with you,

وَ حَربٌ لِمَنْ حارَبَكُم اِلي يُومِ القِيمةِ

And I am at war with those who make war with you, till the Day of Judgement.

وَ لَعَنَ اللهُ الُ زِيادٍ وَ ال مَروانَ وَلَعَنَ اللهُ بَنِي اُمَيةَ قاطِبَةً

May Allah curse, the family of Ziyad, and the family of Marwan,

And May Allah curse Bani Umayya entirely,

وَ لَعَنَ اللهُ بْنَ مَرجانَةً وَ لَعَنَ اللهُ عُمَرِبْنِ سَعْد وَ لَعَنَ اللهُ شِمراً

And May Allah curse Ibn Marjanah

And May Allah curse 'Umar ibne Sa'ad,

And may Allah curse Shimr

وَلَعَنَ اللهُ اُمةً اَسْرَجَتْ وَالجَمَتْ وَ تَنَقَّبَتْ لِقِتالِكَ

And May Allah curse the people who, carried out, saw, and tried to conceal, your killing

بِاَبي اَنتَ وَ اُمّي

My father and mother be sacrificed for you,

 لَقَدْ عَظُمَ مُصابي بِكَ  فَاَسئلُ اللهَ الَّذي اَكرَمَ مَقامَكَ

great is my sorrow for you. I pray to Allah who has honoured your status,

وَ اَكْرَمَني بک اَنْ يَرزُقَني طَلَبَ ثارِكَ مَعَ اِمامٍ مَنصُورٍ مِنْ اَهْلِ بَيْتِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلي اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ الِه

and honoured me through you,

To grant me an opportunity to seek your revenge with a victorious Imam, from the family of Muhammad, blessings of Allah be on him and his family.

اَللّهُمَّ اَجْعَلني عِندكَ وَجيهًا بالحُسَينِ عَليهِ السَّلامُ فيِ الدُنيا وَ الأخِرَةِ

O Allah, make me of a worthy status in your eyes, through Hussein, peace be on him,

 in this world and the Hereafter.

يا اَبا عَبْدِ اللهِ اِني اَتَقرَّبُ اِليَ اللهِ وَ اِلَي رَسُولِهِ

O Abu 'Abdillah, I seek nearness to Allah, and to His Messenger,

وَ اِلَي اَمير الُمؤمِنينَ وَ اِلي فاطِمَةً وَ ِالي الْحَسَنْ

and to the Commander of the Faithful, and to Fatima, and to Hassan,

وَ اِلَيكَ ِبمُوالاتِكَ وَ بالَبرائةِ ِمِمَّن قاتـَلـَکَ وَ نَصَبَ لـَکَ الحَربَ

and to you, through the love and dedication to you

and through disassociating with those who killed you, and prepared to fight you

وَ بِالبَرائــَةِ مِمَّن اَسَّسَ اَساسَ الظـُّلمِ وَ الجَورِ عَـلـَیکـُم

and disassociating with those who established the foundations of tyranny, and wrongs

against you (O Ahlul Bayt).

وَ اَبرَءُ اِلَی اللهِ وَ اِلی رَسُو لِهِ،

I turn to Allah, and His Messenger,

مِمَّن اَسَّسَ اَساسَ ذلِكَ وَ بَني عَلـَيهِ بُنيانَهُ

 away from those who laid grounds for it, and those who built the house of injustice upon it,

وَ جَري في ظُلمِه وَ جَوْرِه عَلَيْكُمْ وَ عَلي اَشياعِكُمَ

and carried out oppression and cruelty, against you and your followers.

بَرئتُ الی الله و الیکُم منهُم و اَتَقربُ الی الله

I turn to Allah, and to you, away from them, and seek nearness to Allah,

ثمَّ اِلَيكُمْ بِموالاتِكُمْ وَ مُوالاةِ وَلِيكُمْ

and then to you through love for you and your friends,

وَ بِالبَرائةِ مِنْ اَعدائِكُمْ وَ النّاصِبينَ لَكُمُ الْحَرْبَ

and by disassociating with your enemies, and those who went to war with you,

وَبالبرآئةِ مِنْ اَشياعِهمْ وَ اَتباعِهمْ

and by disassociating with their adherents and those who follow them.

اِنيّ سِلمٌ لِمَنْ سالَمَكُمْ

I am at peace with those who made peace with you, I befriend those who befriended you

وَ حَربٌ لِمَنْ حارَبَكُمْ

and I am the enemy with those who were your enemies.

فَاسُئلُ الله اَلذي اَكرَمَني بِمَعرفَتِكُمْ وَ مَعرفَةِ اَوليائِكُمْ

I pray to Allah, who has honoured me with awareness of you, and my awareness of your friends

وَرَزَقنِي اَلبرائَةَ مِن اَعدائِكُمْ

and has enabled me to disassociate from your enemies

اَنْ يَجعَلنِي مَعَكُمْ في الدُّنيا وَ الاخرةِ

(I pray) that He may place me with you in this world and the Hereafter.

وَ اَن يُثَبِتَ لي عِنْدَكُمْ قَدَمَ صِدْقٍ في الدُّنيا وَالأخرةِ

And (I Pray) that He may strengthen for me a truthful stance in this world and the Hereafter.

وَ اَسَئلهُ اَن يُبَلغَنيَ المَقامَ الَمحمودَ لَكُمُ عِنْدَ اللهِ

And I pray that He may enable me to reach, your honoured station with Allah

وَ اَنْ يَرزُقَني طَلَبَ ثاري

And that He may grant me the opportunity to seek victory,

مَعَ اِمامٍ هُدي ظاهِرٍ ناطِقٍ بالحَقِ مِنْكُمْ

 along with a rightly guided Imam from amongst you, who will manifest and speak the, truth.

وَ اَسئلُ اللهَ بِحَقِكُمْ وَ بِالشَانِ اَلذيِ لَكُمْ عِندهُ

I ask Allah by your station, and by the honoured position you have with Him,

اَنْ يَعطینِي بِمصابي بِكُمْ اَفْضَلَ ما يُعطي مُصاباً بِمُصيبةً ما اَعْظَمَها

That He grants me for the grief at your sorrows, more than the personal grief that troubles anyone in tragedy.

وَ اَعظمَ رَزَيِتها ِفي اِلاسلامِ

What great sorrows (you experienced)! How great was your tragedy, for Islam

وَ في جَميعَ السَّمواتِ وَ الارضِ

 and in all the Heavens and the earth!

اَللهُمَّ اجْعَلني في مَقامي هذا

O Allah, make me, at this moment,

 ِممَنْ تَنالُهُ مِنكَ صلَواتٌ وَ رحمةٌ وَ مَغفِرةٌ

one who receives from You, blessings, mercy, and forgiveness.

اَللهُمَّ اَجْعَلْ مَحيايَ مَحيا محمدٍ و ال مُحمد

O Allah make me live the life of Muhammad and his family,

وَ مَماتي مَماتَ مُحمدٍ وَ ال مُحمدٍ

and make me die the death of Muhammad and his family.

اَللهمَّ اِنَّ هذا يَوْمٌ تَبركَتْ به بنوامَيَةَ

O Allah, this is a day when Bani Umayya rejoiced,

وَ ابْنُ اكِلةَ الأَكباد

and so too the son of the she who eats the liver of man.

ِ الَّلعينُ ابنُ اللعينِ

the condemned son of the condemned

عَلي لِسانِك وَ لِسانِ نَبِيكَ صليَّ الله عليهِ و اله

as said by You, and Your Prophet blessings of Allah be on him and his family,

بِالبرآئةِ مِنهم وَاللعنةِ عَليهَمّْ

through disassociating from them (the enemies) and cursing them,

و بالموالات لنبیک و ال نبیک علیه و علیهم السلام

and though the love of Your Prophet, and his family, peace be on them.

Cursing the enemies of Ahlul Bayt :(to be recited 100 times)

اللهمَّ العن اولَ ظالم ظلمَ حقَّ محمد و ال محمد 

O Allah, curse the first tyrant who oppressed the right of Muhammad and his family,

و اخِرَ تابِع لَهُ علي ذلكَ

and the last one who followed him on that.

اللهمَّ العََنِ العِصابةَ التي جاهَدَتِ الُحسَين

O Allah, curse the group who fought al-Hussein,

وَشايعتْ و بايِعتْ و تابِعتْ علي قِتله

and the group which followed and supported, and joined hands to kill him.

اللهمَّ العنهم جميعاً

O Allah curse them all.

Salaams on the Martyrs of Karbala : (to be recited 100 times)

السلام عليكَ يا ابا عَبداللهِ وَ علي الاَرواح الَّتي حَلت بفنآئِكَ

Peace be on You O Abu Abdillah and on the souls that died with you.

عليكَ مِني سلامُ الله ابداً ما بَقيتُ وَ بقيَ الليلُ وَ النهارَ

Greetings of Peace of Allah be on you, from me, forever so long as I live and so long as the night and day remain.

في كُلِ مَوْطِن وَ مَوقِفٍ وَقَفٍ فيهِ نَبيكَ صلي الله عليهِ و اله

at every location and occasion in which Your Prophet stood.

اللهمَّ الَعن اَبا سُفيانَ وَ معاويةَ وَ يزيدَ بْنَ مُعاويةَ عَليهِمْ مِنكَ الَّلعنةُ اَبَدَ الابِدينَ

O Allah, curse Abu Sufyan, and Muawiya, and Yazid son of Muawiya an everlasting curse

وَ هَذا يَوْمٌ فَرِحَتْ به ال زِيادٍ وَ الُ مَروانَ

And this is a day when the family of Ziyad was happy, and the family of Marwan

بِقَتلِهمْ اَلحسُيَن صَلواتُ اللهِ عَليهِ

 because of their murder of Hussein, (blessings of Allah be on him).

اَللهُمَّ فَضاعَفْ عَليهمُ اللعنَ منكَ وَالعذابِ الأَليمَ

O Allah, so increase the curse on them from You, and the painful punishment.

اللهمَّ اني اتقربُ اليكَ في هذا اليومِ وَفي مَوقفي هذا وَ اَيام حَيوتي

O Allah, I seek nearness to You on this day, and in this position, and for the rest of my life,

وَ لاجعلهُ اللهُ اخرَ العهدِمني لزيارتكم

May Allah not make this my last pledge of your visitation (ziyaarat)

السلامُ علي الحسين وعلي علي بن الحسين

Peace be on Hussein, and on Ali the son of Hussein,

و علي اولاد الحسين و علي اصحاب الحسين

on the sons of Hussein, and the companions of Hussein.

Cursing the killers at Karbala :

اللّـهمَ خُصَّ انتَ اَوّل ظالِمٍ باللَعنِ مِنّي

O Allah, curse particularly the first tyrant

وَابدَءُ به اولاً ثمَّ الثاني وَالثالث َوَالرابعَ

and begin with him first, then the second, the third, and the fourth.

اللهمَّ العنِ يزيد خامساً و العن عبيدَ اللهِ بن زيادٍ و ابن مرجانةَ

O Allah, curse the fifth one, Yazid,

and 'Ubaydullah bin Ziyad, and Ibne Marjanah,

و عمربن سعد وَ شمراً

and 'Umar ibne Sa'ad, and Shimr,

و ال ابي سفيانَ وَال زياد

and the family of Abu Sufyan, the family of Ziyad,

و ال مروان الي يوم القيامَة

and the family of Marwan, till the Day of Judgement.
