Iran’s rep for Oscar race to compete in Palm Springs festival

The Iranian war-related drama “M for Mother” will be competing in the Palm Springs International Film Festival, which is to be held from January 3 to 14, 2008.

Directed by Rasul Mollaqolipur, the film represents Iranian cinema in the Best Foreign Language Films category at the 80th Annual Academy Awards.

Street theater to be performed during Ten-Day Dawn

Thirty street theater plays will be staged during the Ten-Day Dawn celebration, which is held annually from February 1 to 11 in commemoration of the anniversary of the victory of Iran’s Islamic Revolution of 1979. 

Street plays on the theme of the Islamic Revolution will be performed in all of the country’s 30 provinces during the Ten-Day Dawn celebration.
