Mohsen Makhmalbaf wins Scythian Deer at Ukrainian gala

Iranian director Mohsen Makhmalbaf was presented with the lifetime achievement award of the Molodist Kiev International Film Festival, which was held from October 20 to 28.

He also received the grand prize of the festival, the Scythian Deer, from the President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko.

President of the Asian Film Academy, Makhmalbaf, was head of the jury of this festival which screened a number of films directed by members of his family. His wife, two daughters, and son are also filmmakers.
