President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is scheduled to pay a one-day visit to Saudi Arabia on Saturday evening to discuss major bilateral, regional and international issues with senior Saudi officials, the Islamic Republic of Iran's ambassador in Riyadh Mohammad Hosseini said Friday.
Hosseini said that the President will hold talks with King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud as well as other senior officials of the country.
The two sides will discuss major developments of the Islamic world and the region, said the diplomat.
Describing Tehran-Riyadh ties as "good," Hosseini said that closing ranks of the two great Muslim countries of the region could have effective influence on the region and on the world of Islam.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Manouchehr Mottaki and a number of political officials will accompany President Ahmadinejad in his visit to Saudi Arabia, Hosseini added.
He expressed hope that the visit would help promote Tehran-Riyadh ties to an acceptable level.
