Beware of your thoughts and intentions

In Ayah 284 of Surah Al-Baqarah, Allah (SWT) said: “Whatever is in your minds/hearts, or whatever you say, Allah (SWT) called you to account for it.” Meaning that even memories and bad decisions although they are not put in action, will darken the soul and as the vigilant believer looks after the parts of the body, also looks after the thoughts and the intentions of the heart because he/she will be called to account for them. In Ayah 235 of Surah Al-Baqarah, Allah (SWT) said: “And know that Allah (SWT) knoweth what is in your hearts, so beware of them.”[1]
