Second Theme: Factors Causing Crisis
Ayatollah Khamenei: “Today everyone in the world is an eyewitness to the fact that the United States along with its allies still supports the most vicious terrorists – Daesh and the like – and despite claiming to fight them, it never stops supporting them. The countries in the region joining hand with and supporting and helping the United States are the ones supporting terrorism and the vicious terrorists. The United States openly supports a regime that officially has confessed to be a terrorist, i.e. the Zionist regime.”

Ayatollah Khamenei: “Today, the Americans claim that they want to fight against terrorism, whilst they have created in person the most dangerous and deadly terrorist groups. Who created ISIS? They confess that they have played the key role in creating ISIS. Who pitted other small and large groups like ISIS against Iraq, Syria and other areas? Where do the bullets, weapons and dollars that exist in the pockets of these criminal assassins come from? Where does that money come from? Who are the people who support these deadly and dangerous terrorist groups at American policies? Is there any doubt that the hand of arrogance has played the largest role in creating terrorism and in empowering, assisting and supporting terrorists in the region? In every point in the region, signs of the vicious hand of enemies in igniting terrorist incidents can be observed.”

Ayatollah Khamenei: “Who supports the forged government of Zionism that has exerted pressure on Palestine in Gaza and the West Bank? Who supports it? Who paves the way for them? Who backs them? They are the Western powers as headed by the United States. Then they claim in their slogans and speeches that they oppose terrorism, that they oppose Daesh, while they are lying; they are not telling the truth. This is ignorance. This is the same ignorance prevailing in the world.”

Ayatollah Khamenei: “The American Islam in our time, in the time of Imam [Khomeini] and in all times – as far as we know, and it may be so in the future as well – has two branches only: Secular Islam and pagan Islam … Today, you see that both branches of Islam exist in the world of Islam and both are supported by the bullying world powers and the United States. Today, both the Daesh Takfiri group and Al-Qaeda and the like are supported by the United States and Israel. Also some of the so-called Islamic movements, with no familiarity with Islamic deed, Islamic Fiqh and Islamic Sharia law, are supported by the United States.”
