The International Exhibition of Inventions, New Techniques and Products benefits from the most extensive support and privileges that can be granted to an exhibition. It is under the patronage of the Swiss Federal Governement, the State Council of the Republic and Canton of Geneva, and the Administrative Council of the City of Geneva. This support on the part of the authorities testifies to the usefulness and quality of the event, now acknowledged as the most important exhibition of inventions anywhere today. It is also the most international, with the participation of more than 40 countries.

A survey of the participants of the last exhibition revealed that licences were negotiated for the sale, manufacture, distribution or marketing of more than 45% of the novelties shown. The business value of these contracts exeeded 30 million US$.

These figures explain the exhibition's growing success, both in terms of exhibitors and of professional visitors from every country. The exhibition also owes its succes to the press - both the printed word and the electronic media. To date more than 4000 articles and many radio and television programmes published or broadcast in many countries have been devoted to the event and the inventions on display there.
