Islamic orientation course begins at Ideal

Sheikh Mustafa Al Sairafee, a Doha-based Islamic scholar and preacher, has urged students to take every opportunity to learn about Islamic principles and adhere to them.
Inaugurating a month-long Islamic Orientation Program organized by the Ideal Indian School in cooperation with the Indian Islamic Association (IIA) at the school yesterday, Sairafee highlighted the significance of Islamic education and asked the community to take it seriously. He urged parents to pay greater attention to the spiritual education and training of their children as it would go a long way in molding their personality. The Muslim community has a greater responsibility to shoulder now its action should be based on pure Islamic teachings. “Knowledge is the basis of our culture and civilization and we have to procure it by using all available ways and means,” he said.

The Islamic Cambodian Humanitarian Fund has received $25,364.10 from government departments, private sectors, schools and collages as well as in individuals yesterday.
The Fund received more donations from two private sectors and an individual. The Tiba Association Cooperative donated $2,000 to the fund. On hand to present the donation was its chairman, Dato Haji Yaakub Bin Ahmad.
Pehin Dato Haji Mohamad Yusof donated 200 units of Mushaf, 16 boxes of clothes and cash amounting to $3,250. Haji Yaakub presented the donation. Both donations were handed over to the Director of Islamic Dakwah Centre, Dato Awang Haji Adam who is the chairman of the committee of the fund.
According to Dato Haji Adam, the committee received full cooperation from the Brunei Embassy in Cambodia and the donations have been distributed to the Islamic Community in Cambodia.

A conference under the theme “Islam and Human Security” will be held in the Saudi capital,Riyadh, and would be organized by The Makkah-based Muslim World League (MWL).
A number of cultural and religious leaders from the West have been invited to the conference, in order to get them acquainted with the sublimity and fairness of Islam, and how Islam could be an instrument for solving many of the contemporary problems facing humanity.
Dr. Abdullah Al-Turky, secretary-general of the Muslim World League (MWL) said that the conference would hold eleven sessions at which a number of subtopics would be discussed, among them: security and safety among the Divine Messages and the modern laws, basis for safety and security in the international relations of Muslims, Islam and the security of individual members of society, the security of non-Muslims in Islamic countries, the security of Muslims in non-Muslim countries, human rights in Islam, Islam and world peace, and other relevant subtopics.
The conference is slated for October this year.
