Hezbollah claims responsibility for blasts injuring 4 Israeli soldiers in S Lebanon
The Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for explosions that injured four Israeli soldiers who had infiltrated into southern Lebanon.
"We will not accept Israeli violations of our territory,” said Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah on Beirut-based satellite station al-Mayadeen.
On August 7, two blasts injured the Israeli soldiers after they crossed 400 meters into the south of Lebanon.
"We had prior information that the Israelis were going to pass through this zone (in south Lebanon). Bombs were placed there and when they came that night, they were detonated,” Nasrallah stated.
"As soon as we know that the Israelis have entered Lebanese territory, the party will face (them) in timely fashion."
Following the blasts, the Lebanese army described the incident as a “new violation of Lebanese sovereignty.”
However, Israeli Minister for Military Affairs Moshe Yaalon also confirmed the incident, but claimed that it happened “in operational activity along the Lebanese border” and not inside the Lebanese soil.
The Israeli regime launched a war of aggression on the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah in 2006. The conflict killed about 1,200 Lebanese people and 160 Israelis.
