Senegal youths hold symposium on role of Islam in Africa

The Muslim Youth Society here has held the second symposium, this one under the theme “The Central Role of Islam inAfrica,” and among those who participated in the symposium was the local representative of the Libya-based World Islamic Propagation Organization (WIPO), Abdul Salaam Abdul Karim Al-Arbad. There were several lectures delivered, as well as a number of research studies presented, including one on the first Muslim encounter with Africa, when a band of Muslims fleeing Quraishi persecution fled to what is today known as Ethiopia.

Indonesia: WAMY makes worthwhile achievements

A home to know estimated 200 is The Riyadh-based World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) has managed to build three mosques and to sink three new wells in Indonesia, at a total cost of SR174,000, according to assistant secretary-general of WAMY (Makkah Regional Branch). He added that with the kind donations of philanthropists, WAMY was able to build a total of 18 mosques in Indonesia during the last two years, costing a total of one million Saudi Riyals.

The Imam of Europe's Largest Mosque Sacked for a Sermon

While European Union is all engrossed in putting together a compact policy aimed at combating the post 9/11 spate of inflammatory political rhetoric responsible for creating a rising tide of hostility towards Muslim communities in Europe, the Imam of Europe's largest mosque has been sacked for calling on Allah to "annihilate the enemies of Islam", during the last Friday prayers.
The matter is being discussed by the Muslim community acrossEurope. Policy makers at the EU active in eradicating 'Islamophobia' in member states and the accession countries of the EU are also trying to ascertain "more details on the issue".
