Visiting the Grave of the Prophet and pious people
Given our discussion about narrations, conduct and tradition of Islamic Ummah with regards to visiting the grave of the Prophet and pious people to ask for intercession, it is clear that by objecting the old tradition of Muslims and raising unfounded objections, the extremist Salafis are trying to advance their ominous goals in the Islamic Society. They ignore the conduct of Muslims and are altering the history to advance their beliefs and objectives. Recently they demolished the tomb of Hojr bin Adi, the companion of Prophet Muhammad.
On one hand, given narrations and documents about invoking blessing that were reviewed in this article, it seems that imploring for blessing through intercession by those who have been honored by God, such as prophets and pious people, is not worship. But Muslims honor them because God has done so, and therefore doing so is honoring and homage to God. Imploring God for blessing through their intercession, in accordance with honoring religious duties, is considered a way for achieving nearness to God.
