Emir of Riyadh dies

Due to the insistence of the al-Saud family in selection of princes for key positions and major responsibilities, illness and old age is one of the biggest challenges for the al-Saud family.Sattam bin Abdulaziz(21 January 1941 - 12 February 2013) was 30th son of Abdul-Aziz by his wife Modha.

The 72-years old Prince was appointed as Deputy Governor of Riyadh district on 6th of Feb. 1968, and became the Deputy Emir on the 27th of May 1979.

Sattam became the Emir of Riyadh on 5th of Nov. 2011.
