Mystery Fog
With the help from an adult, put hot tap water into a glass. Put ice water into another glass. Why does fog form on different parts of the two glasses?
Explanation
Fog forms on the inside of the hot-water glass. Hot water vapor rising from the water condenses into droplets as it touches the cool glass above the water level. Fog forms on the outside of the ice-water glass. Room-temperature water vapor condenses as it touches the cold glass below the water level.
