Imam Reza’s Jurisprudential Inferences (Part 2)
Imam Reza (A.S) relied on the holy Qur’an in his jurisprudential inferences. Following are some of the examples of these inferences.
1. With regard to the prohibition of teaching magic and making an earning, Imam Reza referred to the following verse: "But they do not harm anyone through it except by permission of Allah."(2:102)(1)
2. With regard to trust in God as a permanent provider, he referred to the following verse: "and there was beneath it a treasure for them."(18:82)(2)
3. With regard to accepting apology and forgiveness, he referred to the following verse: "so forgive with gracious forgiveness."(15:85)(3)
4. With regard to Hajj as an obligatory rite once in life, he referred to the following verse: "For there should separate from every division of them a group [remaining] to obtain understanding in the religion and warn their people when they return to them that they might be cautious."(9:122)(4)
5. With regard to fasting trice a month as a recommended deed, he referred to the following verse:" Whoever comes [on the Day of Judgment] with a good deed will have ten times the like thereof [to his credit] (6:160) (5)
6. With regard to giving alms by children's own hands, he referred to the following verse: "So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it, And whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it."(99:7, 8)(6)
7. With regard to prohibition of seeking other’s help in making an ablution (wudu) if not necessary, he referred to the following verse: “So whoever would hope for the meeting with his Lord - let him do righteous work and not associate in the worship of his Lord anyone."(18:110)(7)
