The Qur’an, the Source of Imam Reza’s Words and Speeches
Imam Reza relied on the holy and graceful divine source of guidance in all his religious, scientific, ideological and jurisprudential teachings and issues and all his speech were based on the Qur’an. Shaykh Saduq narrates through the words of Ibrahim Ibn Abi al-Abbas who said: “whatever others asked Imam Reza (A.S), he did know the answer; he did know everything and answers to every question; I never saw someone wiser than him in his time.”
Ma’mun was always asking him different questions and Imam Reza (A.S) was answering all his questions. All he said in his replies were based on the Holy Qur’an.
Recitation of the Qur’an in Ramadhan
Mohaddes Nouri in his book Fiqh al-Reza narrates from Imam Reza (A.S) who said: “read the Qur’an a lot and beseech God to grant His blessings and peace upon the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad in this holy month.” Also, Imam Reza (A.S) narrates through the words of his father, Imam Ali (A.S) who also narrated from Muhammad (PBUH) who said: “the one who reads only one verse of the Qur’an in the month of Ramadhan as if he has read the Qur’an completely in other months.”
