Serbia hosts Iranian Film Festival in Belgrade
The 12th edition of Belgrade’s Iranian Film Festival has kicked off during a ceremony in the Serbian capital, presenting Iranian films and cinematic productions.
Iranian Ambassador to Serbia attended the opening ceremony of the event at the city’s Filmography Museum along with several Iranian diplomats and cineastes.
The festival opened with Rasoul Sadr-Ameli’s Every Night, Loneliness . This year's event will pay tribute to the award-winning director, screenwriter and producer by screening five of his films.
Born in 1954, Sadr-Ameli has participated in numerous film festivals around the globe including the Chicago International Film Festival where he was awarded for his film Every Night, Loneliness.
The Girl in Sneakers, I Am Taraneh, Fifteen Years Old, Living with Closed Eyes and Nights are Sadr- Ameli’s other films that are set to be screened at Serbia’s Iranian Film Festival.
Organized by the Iranian cultural office in Serbia in collaboration with Belgrade Filmography Museum and Kinoteka movie theater, Serbia's 2011 Iranian Film Festival will run for one week.
