Muhammad Salahshoor, Iranian Master in Persian Calligraphy
Muhammad Salahshoor was born in 1932 in Tehran, began studying calligraphy under the supervision of Master Hassan Zarrinkhatt and went on to benefit from the teachings of Master seyyed Hussein Mirkhani and Master Ali-Akbar Kaveh.
In 1980, he received "Master Diploma in Calligraphy" and in 1992, he had The First Grade Art Diploma in Calligraphy.
He started with writing school education books, in 1953. Later wrote art and literature books, as Collection of Poems of Hafiz, Selection Poems of Hafiz (1971: RCD), Baba Taher Poems, Khyam Quatrains,... more than 15000 pages, as well as his permanent artistic works of calligraphy.
Besides learning in "Iran Calligraphers Society", he has edited artistic, cultural and literal books as "Shah-nameh" (Ferdowsi), "Five Treasures" (Nizami) …
Muhammad Salahshoor received a First Grade Artistic Certificate, equivalent to a PhD from The Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and has also participated in numerous individual and group exhibitions in Iran, France, Kuwait, and Pakistan, India, England, Algeria…
In 2001, he is member of "Board of Directors of Iran Calligraphers Society", and also member of "Master Degree of Iran Calligraphers Society".
Workshop: Art Atelier
In 1961, Muhammad Salahshoor started his professional work by establishment artistic workshop in Shah-abad Ave. in Tehran, called "Atolieh Honar" (Art Atelier). All of his works during these years were done in this place.
In 1984, he has started publishing calligraphy books. Later, he established another office in Apadana Ave. in Tehran. Here, Muhammad Salahshoor, with his daughter and his son, has only publishing works; Shah-abad Ave. Atelier left for artistic works, as calligraphy, illumination …
