Ayatollah Khatami: US strength is deteriorating
Tehran’s interim Friday Prayer Leader, Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami, has underlined that the US is deteriorating and the capitalist world has failed to respond to popular demands.
According to IRIB World Service, Ayatollah Khatami noted that the US is grappling with surging domestic and foreign problems, while reminding that continuation of anti-Wall Street demonstrations shows the Western system is faced with a failure.
Referring to recent allegations of US officials about assassination of the commanders of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Ayatollah Khatami noted that based on all evidence and documents, the US administration is the biggest terrorist state in the world and confession to assassination of IRGC commanders shows the peak of US degradation in the global scene.
On US support for regional dictators, Ayatollah Khatami said that the US cannot contain the wave of Islamic awakening that has taken shape in Middle East, because the era of hegemony has ended and suppressive and autocratic rulers have no place among people.
Also referring to crimes committed in Bahrain, Tehran’ s interim Friday Prayer leader said that the US and Saudi Arabian states are the main supporters of Aale Khalifa regime in Bahrain, and are intent on maintaining the rule of Bahrain’s dictator through massacre of people.
In further remarks, Ayatollah Khatami referred to detention of innocent women in the Bahraini regime’ s prisons, while adding that women are tortured in these dungeons, while they have only made righteous demands.
On US withdrawal from Iraq, Ayatollah Khatami said following years of occupation, the US has been forced to pull out of Iraq, because the occupation of Iraq has only brought about woes and humiliation for Washington.
He underscored that in the past fifty years, the US has made direct and indirect military interferences in dozens of countries, while finally being forced to flee these countries, in humiliation.
Ayatollah Khatami also reiterated that with the Islamic awakening, the Global Arrogance will never be able to obstruct the Islamic Ummah.
In the beginning of today’s sermons, Ayatollah Khatami extended his condolences on the anniversary of martyrdom of the 5th Infallible Imam of the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (PBUH) Household, Imam Muhammad Baqir (A.S), while noting that complete knowledge of sciences, trustworthiness, and support for the poor, were some of the evident characteristics of the 5th Infallible Imam (A.S).
