Iran to announce good nuclear news
Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Fereydoun Abbasi has downplayed sanctions against the country, saying Tehran will announce good nuclear developments in the near future.
Despite sanctions, Iran’s peaceful nuclear industry is managing all its affairs well, Abbasi told reporters on Sunday.
He emphasized that neither the country’s nuclear industry nor activities in other domains have been halted by sanctions, IRNA reported.
The United States, the Israeli regime and some of their allies accuse Tehran of pursuing military objectives in its nuclear program.
The UN Security Council has already imposed four rounds of US-engineered sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program.
Washington and the European Union have also adopted unilateral measures against Iran, meant to deter Western investment in the country’s energy sector.
Iran argues that as a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) it has the right to develop and acquire nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
In addition, the IAEA has conducted numerous inspections of Iran’s nuclear facilities but has never found evidence indicating that the country’s civilian nuclear program has diverted towards a military program.
