US drone raids kill 7 in S Yemen

Seven people, including an Egyptian, have been killed in attacks carried out by US unmanned aircraft in southern Yemen, a local official says.

The official who spoke on the condition of anonymity said the seven people were killed in three drone strikes on Friday.

He added that a mosque was also targeted by the unmanned US aircraft that left a number of people injured.

The US has regularly been launching air strikes against alleged militants in Yemen although Sana’a routinely denies that the United States carries out offensive operations in its territory.
