(23) Tragedy: Chinese firefighters extinguish a huge fire that engulfed a high-rise in Shanghai after construction scaffolding surrounding the building caught fire and spread to the building itself. The blaze killed at least 53 people.

(24) In the Streets: Haitians protest in the city of Cap-Haitien, accusing Nepalese of bringing cholera to Haiti. Protesters gathered, yelling anti-U.N. slogans and hurling stones at U.N. peacekeepers, while setting up burning barricades and torching a police station.
