Leader calls for better co-op between religious and educational centers
The Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called for a better cooperation between mosques and education centers in a message issued Tuesday.
In the message to the 19th national prayer conference, the Leader encouraged school students in different parts of the country to get guidance from clerics.
The Leader noted that although there are lots of mosques in the country, constructing new mosques in different cities, towns, villages and residential blocks is a priority.
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei went on to say that virtuous, wise, proficient, and warmhearted clerics should be present in mosques.
Mosques should strengthen their relations with newly-wed youth and talented people in scientific, social, art, and sport fields, the Leader explained.
The Leader uttered that mosques should be source of bounty.
The 19th prayer conference opened on October 12 (Tuesday) in the city of Birjand, northeastern Iran. It will end on October 13 (today).
Attending the conference, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad appreciated the performance of 6 executive bodies which have played active role in the religious field.
Education, transportation, and culture ministries, Islamic Azad University, Tehran Municipality, and the State Prison Organization were the bodies which were lauded by the president in the conference
