China exhibits Iranian calligraphy works

China’s Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Museum has held a Persian calligraphy exhibition presenting a diverse collection of works with Qur’anic themes.

The event displays more than 50 works inspired by Qur’anic verses and in various calligraphic styles such as Kufic, Naskh and Nasta’liq.

Co-sponsored by Iran’s cultural office in China and officials of the Muslim Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, the exhibition will run until October 10 in Yinchuan.

Visitors can also get books and pamphlets about Iranian tourist attractions, traditions and culture, Mehr News Agency reported.

Iran’s cultural office presented a Chinese version of the Holy Qur’an along with other books on Iranian culture and history to those participating in the opening ceremony of the show on September 25, 2010.
