Tehran to host Kamkar’s paintings
Tehran’s Niavaran Cultural and Historical Complex is to mount an exhibition of works by the Iranian painter and Tombak virtuoso Arjang Kamkar.
In a surprising display after 12 years, the Iranian artist, who is a member of the renowned 'kamkars' music ensemble, is scheduled to showcase over 60 pieces of his paintings from September 17 to 27, Fars news agency reported on Monday.
The exhibition dubbed Color of Melodies covers 32 years of the musician’s painting career.
The Kamkars, a Kurdish family of seven brothers and a sister, are among the most famous Iranian musicians who present Kurdish melodies and traditional Persian music.
Although Arjang is a skilled player of Tombak, he also pursues his passion for painting.
