Iranian pianist to conduct workshop at German festival
Iranian virtuoso pianist Puyan Azadeh will hold a workshop during the 60th Young Artists Festival of Bayreuth, which will take place in the City of Bayreuth, in northern Bavaria, Germany from August 5 to 30.
The festival is also scheduled to host workshops by 24 musicians from around the world, the organizers announced on the festival’s website.
Azadeh, 31, studied classical European and classical Persian music in Iran. He has previously participated in master classes held by Austrian musician Professor Paul Gulda at the Bayreuth Festival of Young Artists.
He is currently holding music courses in Iran, Germany and the U.S.
Azadeh is the author of “National Anthems of the World”, which was nominated for the UNESCO Prize for Peace Education.
He has also written “The Music of the Sangsar Nomads” and “The European Piano School”.
“Yeylagh”, a collection of his compositions on Persian folklore, was released on CDs in 2005.
Since 2007, he has held a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Currently, he is a PhD. candidate in Music Education (Musikpädagogik) at the Martin-Luther-University Musical Institute.
