On the other side of the world, not only is the world's greatest sporting event taking place but a young man is also fulfilling the journey of a lifetime.
29-year-old Thulani Ngcobo from South Africa, is travelling more than 17,000 kilometers in order to attend all 38 live 2010 FIFA World Cup™ matches in 9 host cities to set a brand new Guinness World Record for Most Matches Attended at a FIFA World Cup™ by an Individual.
Ngcobo won a competition in his native South Africa organised by telecommunications company MTN called ‘Last Fan Standing’ in which he answered various football related questions to be entered into a prize draw to win tickets to watch over 3420 minutes of football. Speaking of his amazing win Ngcobo said “I feel like I’m still dreaming, I think I could just be the luckiest football fan in the world and if I get a Guinness World Record all my dreams will be written in history too.”
