English Translation :
If desire be thine that the (true) beloved should not (by severing asunder attachments to thee) break the covenant,
First Mesra Translation:
Keep (with respect) the end of the cord, so that (the covenant) he may-- preserve.
Second Mesra Translation:

**- اگر ميل داري كه معشوق عهد و پيماني را كه بسته منقطع نكند; سر رشته محبت را نگه دار تا او سر ديگر را نگه دارد ـ محبت يك جانبه پايدار نيست ، **
